Measures will be taken to minimise the impacts and maximise the benefits of the scheme for local residents and businesses.

Landscaping and environmental improvements will be achieved through the implementation of a Landscaping Strategy. This will mitigate any potentially negative implications and include the creation of landscaped ’buffer zones’. In addition, areas of land currently classified as brownfield will be comprehensively remediated, resulting in a great overall improvement to the environmental quality of the area. The scheme will enhance Halebank Recreation Area and provide of new parkland and wildlife habitats.

Changes to the road network will ensure that the increase in HGV traffic generated by the Freight Park does not impact on the residential area of Halebank.
